It seems that being a minister at the Ministry of Justice doesn't keep Shailesh Vara busy. As the announcement below reveals, he is now being shared with the Department for Work and Pensions.
And why would he be busy at the MoJ? After all, his current role only gives him responsibilty for:
- courts and tribunals
- administrative justice
- legal aid
- legal services (including the Legal Services Board)
- better regulation and growth
- judicial diversity
- data protection and data sharing (including sponsorship of information commissioner)
It's not like there's anything happening with, say, legal aid at the moment...
The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Shailesh Vara MP as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions. This is in addition to his current role as a Parliamentary under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice.
